However, this can be avoided if people will exert even just a little effort to change their lifestyle for the better. All it takes are some discipline if you truly want a healthy heart. Consider these useful tips for your reference:

• The food you eat can greatly influence your health especially your heart’s condition. Especially for busy people, they rely so much on fast foods. Better avoid it if you can. It may taste good and tempting but it can do you little or no nutritional value. Instead, try cooking your meals at home and eat plenty of vegetable, fish, fresh fruits and grains.

• Too much salt consumption is not good for you. Try to minimize your salt intake in not more than 1 tablespoon a day.

• Monitor your food intake and always heed the cholesterol level of the foods that you put in your mouth. Eat only a little of nuts, milk and cheese.

• Make it a habit to include garlic in your recipes. Preferably, eat it raw, chopped or crushed because its benefits are much stronger.

• Eat foods that are rich in beta carotene like cabbage, carrots, dark leafy greens and sweet potatoes. It is best for maintaining a healthy heart.

• Don’t overeat and don’t skip meals.

• Make it your habit to drink not less than 8 glasses of water a day because it is not only good for your heart but it is very beneficial for your overall health.

• Drink tea. It is also good for you.

• Exercise is very important. Take time to do an exercise regularly. Muscles are considered as fat burning machines. Utilize your muscles efficiently.

• Walking is very good for your heart’s health. Find time to walk always.
