Tips to naturally lower your blood pressure

Over half of Americans today have High Blood Pressure, it is one of the most preventable conditions out there, but if not controlled it can be deadly it plays a role in more than 15% of deaths in the U.S. today.

HBP causes no symptoms but it increases the risks of some of the leading killers such as, stroke, heart attacks, congestive decline, and kidney failure, a percentage of Americans have high blood pressure and don’t even know it, if you have not had yours check in the last year, see your doctor.

People can lower their blood pressure naturally without being on medication, First you need to get to a healthy weight, being overweight is one main reasons of blood pressure. Some things you can do are

Breath deep and slow, take nice long deep breaths, yoga is a great way to do this, it will reduce stress and reduce the kidney enzyme in your blood that raises blood pressure, try inhaling deeply and expand your stomach, exhale and release all the tension. Try this in the morning and at night before bed to help you relax.

Avoid smoking, the nicotine in tobacco will raise your blood pressure.  If you smoke all day then this means that your blood pressure is staying elvevated constantly all day.

Cut down on the sodium that means the saltshaker and the salty foods. Look for the sodium content in the foods you eat too, Salt will help you to retain water, which in turn will raise the blood pressure

Eat dark chocolate. Dark chocolate contains flavanols and will make the blood vessels more elastic. Its good to eat about a half ounce a day.

Go easy on the caffeine, Caffeine can raise blood pressure by tightening blood vessels. When the blood vessels tighten it causes stress in the body and when your body is under stress it makes the heart pump faster and harder elevating the blood pressure.

Finally, go for a walk people with high blood pressure that walk a good pace will find their blood pressure will go down, exercising gives the heart oxygen so the heart does not have to work so hard. Cardio at least 3 days a week for 30 min will help and also help you to get in shape.
