Swim in Place for Great Exercise and Recreation Install a Lap Pool in Your Home

Swim in place therapy pools are a great asset to good health and recreation. Swimming and water exercise aid in a healthy cardiovascular system, muscle tone and flexibility. Swim in place therapy pools such as Endless Pools can save money and time while giving overall health benefits. A generator that provides a water current is the foundation for the swim in place system that can be installed in a convenient location in your home.

Wouldn’t it be nice to crawl out of bed, have a little morning coffee and then walk into your garage, basement or on to your patio to swim a few laps. No driving to the recreation center to change in the cold locker room or waiting for a lane to open in the pool. Forget about the sole swimmer that doesn’t know how to circle swim to share a lane.

You may think that installing a lap pool in your home is an expensive and messy endeavor requiring backhoes and jack hammers and contractors and permits. I guess you could go that route, but there is a much simpler way to do it with one of the great products now on the market like the Endless Pools and SwimEx. These pools are “swim in place” pools with a device that generates a water current from one end giving the necessary resistance to stay in one place.

Convenient Size for Home Use

The swim in place style lap pools have the benefit of fitting in a relatively small space compared to traditional lap pools. A more traditional lap pool may need 30 or more feet to swim a reasonable lap but with the swim in place pools a small twelve foot length will fit in most basements or garages. In the warmer climates, an enclosed patio is perfect for the various sizes of swim in place therapy pools.

Additional Therapy Options

In addition to the swim in place current generator, many of the home therapy pools also have an underground treadmill option with handles.  Walking in water is low resistance and also aids in cardiovascular and heart health. This is a particularly nice feature for those of us who really don’t like getting our faces in the water.

If you move, you can take your pool with you. You don’t have to worry about all the expense of putting in an in-ground pool only to have to leave it behind when you move. Most of the dealers of therapy and swim in place pools have installation options if you are unable or unwilling to do it yourself. You can also purchase the current generator seperately to place on a pool that you already have.

Save Time and Money

Athletes and the aging population as well as those with certain chronic medical conditions often require costly physical therapy appointments and sessions with the physical or occupational therapist. The swim in place therapy pools will save countless hours of time spent driving and changing clothes and waiting for the therapist. It will save money in co-pays, gasoline costs and reliance on a driver if you are unable to drive.
